We do things a little differently at Brookfields, from embracing 5th-century winemaking techniques to growing, making, bottling, and labelling on-site.
Peter Robertson combines the best winemaking techniques from the past and present, using grapes from specifically chosen locations with a strict growing policy to produce outstanding premium wines enjoyed in some of the world's finest restaurants and by our many winery visitors.
Our maritime climate, proximity to the ocean with offshore coastal breezes in the afternoon, and hot days blending into coolish nights are ideal fruit-growing conditions producing exceptional depth and flavour.
We're comfortable in our own skin and have remained true to our roots, making high-quality wine that's enjoyable to drink in small amounts, focusing on quality, not quantity.
With a reputation built on producing stunning award-winning red wines such as Cabernet/Merlot, Syrah and the must-have Sun-Dried Malbec, it's the extended varietals of handcrafted Chardonnay, richly flavoured Pinot Gris and Rosé that has firmly placed Brookfields as one of Hawke's Bay's best winemakers.
With only 8,000 and 10,000 cases of wine produced each year, the focus remains on creating a more dramatic wine than expanding. So, it's easy to see why Brookfields is so highly sought after by passionate collectors and lovers of wine.

Winemaker Peter or his daughter Rachael may greet you on arrival.
