Tasting Note:
The Back Blocks of New Zealand are renowned for their hidden treasures. Rich deep red in colour. The 2009 'Back Block' Syrah has forward black pepper notes integrated with dark plum and blackberry characters. It is inviting, warm and savoury with multiple layers of flavour due to its time developing in seasoned French oak. Drinking well now, but will repay another 4-5 years in the bottle.
Accompaniment:
Good cuisine demands a special wine, enjoy.
